How to develop status of an expert (EN)

How to develop status of an expert (EN)

In many TV advertisements toothbrushes or toothpaste is proclaimed only by a doctor or a dentist. The effect is stunning - we tend to believe people of profession. But once I asked my dentist to recommend a good toothpaste, he did not give me a clear answer. I was disappointed. Than I asked what paste he was using and the conversation went to funny end. This is a negative example of tons of ads that suggest in strong way some type of thinking.

The same situation occurred with me, when I asked my driver license teacher - to recommend a good car for a novice. He firmly gave me a clear advice, and I am still driving this car, without any doubt of "my" choice. My teacher knew I would have such questions. And now I suppose that they should get some % from car dealers to promote some models.

This effect is called  - GURU effect.

In the time of fast growing sales, marketing etc. there is no time for a simple people make an internet research, read tons of books and journals, when you can just ask guru. He knows it well. There are only 25 % of prosumers, who already know the product or service, so they can hardly be persuaded, as the choice is almost done, and the questions follow just to check their Sherlock's findings.

Nowadays, more popular become the social life of such experts, whether they are cooking and holding a restaurant business, or making some style thing and are published in journals. The blogging is one of the way to show its followers: I know what I am doing, and I am still alive. Follow me. I will make it easier for you to make a choice.

My personal highlights:
- you should be interesting and not pop-culturized
- you must be a good storyteller
- your style should respond your profession
- develop yourself and be ready to spread your ideas to others
